Thailand's women's team continued its unbeaten winning form in the Asian Cricket Council Twenty20 Championship beating Bhutan by 83 runs at the Bayuemas Oval in Malaysia yesterday.
Taking first strike the Thai girls scored 122 for five in their quota of 20 overs with Sommarin Tippoch scoring 33 runs. She had three fours.
Nattaya Bhoochatham 12, opener Pundarika Pratharnmitr 10, and an unbeaten 41-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Siwaporn Kosathong not out 17 and Thanapan Saisud 18 not out, saw the Thai girls swell their score to 122 for 5.
Anju Gurung 2 for 12, Sonam Choden 2 for 24 and Sangay Choki 1 for 32, captured the wickets for Bhutan..
When Bhutan went into bat, they found the Thai bowling tough to face up to.
With the first wicket fallen for two runs - opener Tashi Choki bowled for a duck by Nattaya Boonchatham - a procession followed and they were all out for 39 in 18.1 overs.
None of the Bhutani batswomen reached double figures. Naruemol Chaiwai took 3 for 7, Nathakam Chantham 2 for 12, Nattaya 1 for 5, Nantanit Khonchan 1 for 8,Thanapan Saisud 1 for 4, and Siwaporn Kosathong 1 for 1, captured the wickets for the Thais.
In other matches China beat Malaysia by eight wickets. Malaysia batted first and were all out for 45.
China replied with 46 for 2.
Nepal beat Qatar by eight wickets. Qatar were all out for 43 and Nepal replied with 44 for two.
